I frequently get comments posted to the blog asking me to "sign them up" for a specific challenge.


Please note: This is an INFORMATION ONLY blog. To successfully sign up for challenges readers must follow the posted links about a challenge to the CHALLENGE BLOG. Then they should follow the instructions there to sign up!

Perpetual Challenge
No Time Limits

Marcia from The Printed Page is hosting a challenge for series lovers. To Be Continued... is a perpetual challenge - so no time limits! The guidelines for this challenge are:

1 - No books lists or sign ups; cross over books and challenges are welcome, actually encouraged
2 - If not based on the main character central characters must play a prominent part throughout the series
3 - All genres welcome ~ YA, historical, western, paranormal, mystery, police procedural, adventure, etc.
4 - No trilogies please; only ongoing series (see Spotlight Series)


Readers need not have a blog to participate.

Arthurian Challenge

She's baaaaaack with a new challenge! Becky at Becky's Book Reviews is hosting the Arthurian Challenge. What's it all about?

Goal: To read 6-12 books starring characters found in or inspired by Arthurian legends. (King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, Merlin, Lady of the Lake, etc.)


Becky's started a blog just for this challenge, and she's got loads of links and ideas. And if you don't like the challenge button I chose - be assured she has several more to pick from. She also is being very flexible with the rules. Why not drop by, read about the challenge and sign up?

Teen Book Reviews is hosting the Read For Your Dreams Challenge where participants are encouraged to read ten (10) books - fiction or non fiction - which related to their dreams.

Choose one thing you’d really like to do–travel the world, live in Italy, learn to cook, become a lawyer, I don’t care what. And then, read ten books that directly have to do with that dream. You may change your list at any time, but you should start out with at least a few possibilities.

The Third Annual 48-Hours Book Challenge


June 6 - 8, 2008

Mother Reader at The Heart of a Mother, The Soul of a Reader is hosting the third annual 48- hour book challenge. For those of you unfamiliar with this challenge, participants commit to 48 hours of reading, reviewing and blogging - a marathon of sorts! The rules are simple:


  • Read and blog for any 48-hour period within the Friday-to-Monday-morning window. Start no sooner than 7:00 a.m. on Friday the sixth and end no later than 7:00 a.m. Monday.
  • The books should be about fifth-grade level and up. Adult books are fine, especially if any adult book bloggers want to play.
  • For promotion/solidarity purposes, let your readers know when you are starting the challenge with a specific entry on that day. Write your final summary on Monday, and for one day, we’ll all be on the same page, so to speak.
  • Your final summary needs to clearly include the number of books read, the approximate hours you spent reading/reviewing, and any other comments you want to make on the experience.
