War and Peace Readalong

Jillian of A Room of One's Own is hosting the War and Peace Read-a-long.  She writes:

I’m hosting a very casual War and Peace Readalong for 2011. (So casual that the button is only a picture of the book!) This is mostly to keep myself organized in 2011 so I can get this enormous book checked off my list – though folks are welcome to join. 

The novel is 365 chapters long, so the plan is to read a chapter a day for a year, and weigh in with thoughts every two months.

I’ve never hosted a readalong and am a little worried about whether or not I can handle it, so a few things you should know if you decide to join me in reading Tolstoy’s ginormous ode to writing a lot, LOT of words:

What this readalong WILL be:

1. a place to gather links for anyone participating in a year-long 2011 read of War and Peace
2. a place to find links for anyone following along (but not necessarily participating in) a 2011 year-long read of War and Peace
     
   Schedule for posts:

   • February 2011 – Chapters 1-59
   • April 2011 – Chapters 60-120
   • June 2011 – Chapters 121-181
   • August 2011 – Chapters 182-243
   • October 2011 – Chapters 244-304
   • December 2011 – Chapters 305-365 (and final thoughts)
