There are 16 works in the series so far; 7 full length novels (the 8th novel is being released on 3/26/2013) and 9 novellas. For this read-a-long, we’ll be focusing on the full-length novels. (If you are interested in reading the novellas, most of them can be found on Jennifer Estep's website.) We’re going to read one book a month and hold a discussion at the end of each month, leading up to the release of the 8th book in this series – Deadly Sting.

The ELEMENTAL ASSASSIN Read-a-Long Discussion Schedule:

9/28/2012: Spider’s Bite discussion @ The Book Vixen
10/30/2012: Web of Lies discussion @ Smash Attack Reads

For each discussion we will compare notes, share our favorite quotes and there will be about 5 discussion topics/questions to discuss and answer.

If you’re interested in joining Ash and I in our ELEMENTAL ASSASSIN series read-a-long, grab a copy of Spider’s Bite and meet us on The Book Vixen on 9/28. Be there or be square!

Fraterfest Read-a-Thon

Oct. 5, 2012 - Oct. 8, 2012

For the Month of October I will be reading books with Zombies, Vampires, Ghosts, Shapeshifters, Witches and things that Go Bump In the Night! To kick it off I am hosting a
Fraterfest Read-a-Thon
inspired by the author of things that go bump in the night
Rhiannon Frater

Fraterfest Read-a-thon details:

Begins 12:01 am (CST) on October 5th and ends at midnight October 8th. I am hoping to provide some motivation to attack your TBR pile. You can read whatever you want as long as one book is either a Rhiannon Frater novel or a bump in the night book (vampire, zombie, shapeshifter, ghost etc). For my peeps who fear losing sleep a mystery will do ;) If you can only participate during a few days of the read-a-thon that is okay too. There is no requirement to follow me but it's always appreciated. You don't have to have a blog, feel free to follow along on twitter, goodreads, or facebook. I will be using the hashtag #Fraterfest. Throughout the event there will be fun challenges and prizes. On Sunday October 7th from 6pm(EST) to 8pm(CST) I will host a twitter party hashtag #Fraterfest. You do not have to follow me on twitter but you can do so here: @kimbacaffeinate. There will be some awesome Frater prizes for read-a-thon participants. To qualify you most post your goals and results and participate in at least one challenge. These can be on your blog, facebook page, goggle+ or goodreads. As long as you can share it.
To join in the fun, grab my button (post on your blog or share on any social media) and link up below. If you are interesting in hosting a challenge for this event, please email asap. On October 5th, I will post a new linky for you to update your link with your goals/results etc page. This post will also include a schedule of events for you to participate in. I am very excited about this read-a-thon but it won't be any fun without you..so link up my caffeinated book loving peeps! Remember you can participate as much or as little as you want. The goal is to attack that TBR pile and have fun!

The EPIC Dark Tower Read-a-Long

Sept 2012 - July 2013

Welcome to the EPIC Dark Tower Read-a-Long.  Of course, we are huge Stephen King fans.  Otherwise, we wouldn't be hosting this challenge.  I have been wanting to get to this series for years and I thought, "What better way than a read-a-long?"  And us readers love to do things in a big way, especially those of us who love read-a-thons, challenges, read-a-longs and the like.  Below I will list the monthly break down.  The really long books will be two month read-a-longs.  The week before each month starts, I will post the reading/posting schedule for the particular book we're reading that month.  I am adding a linky to this post just so I can keep up with who is participating.  Don't worry...I'm not a big stickler on rules.  If you get behind, I'm not going to turn one of SK's monsters loose on you.  ;O)  I hope you will join us! Be sure to grab the button above and spread the word!
Note:  If you've already read some of the books, feel free to jump in with the ones you haven't read, and you are welcome to join in on any of the discussions.
September--The Gunslinger, Book 1
October--The Drawing of the Three, Book 2
November--The Waste Lands, Book 3
December/January--Wizard and Glass, Book 4
February--The Wind Through the Keyhole, Book 4.5
March/April--Wolves of the Calla, Book 5
May--Song of Susannah, Book 6
June/July--The Dark Tower, Book 7

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Read-a-long

7/1/2012 - 11/30/2012

Welcome to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Read-a-long! I bought all of the books of this series long ago and I’m finally about to start reading it. I have seen this series in some bloggers’ TBR piles or wishlists so I decided to host this read-a-long. It is my first read-a-long and I hope to get some participants.
The Books in the Series:
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (1979)
The Restaurant at the End of the Universe (1980)
Life, the Universe and Everything (1982)
So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish (1984)
Mostly Harmless (1992)
How It Works?
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series is composed of 5 books. It is summer time already. I have heard that the series is fun to read so I will try to read at least 3 books from the series in two months but I don’t want to bore my prospective participants so the read-a-long will run from July 1, 2012 to November 30, 2012. To sign up, please read the general rules below. Then, post about this read-a-long on your blog, including the button above, and don’t forget to link back to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Read-a-long page on my blog!
Rules:
Anyone may join at any time. Just leave a comment below with the following info:
Name / Blog (if you have one) / # of books you plan to read from the series
I’ll comprise a list with everyone and add it to this page.
Updates on the read-a-long will be posted each time I finish off a book from the series and you may then comment with your own progress and add a link to your review if you like.
