What is it?
A meme posted every Saturday a place to swap books exclusively for bloggers who post book reviews.

How does it work?

• Create a Swap Saturday post on your blog, with your updated list of books you are ready to swap. Feel free to use my logo. 
• Be sure to specify the condition of your book
• use the Mr. Linky widget to link your post to the weekly post on Words And Peace
• visit the other posts linked, and when a blogger has a book you like, tell him/her in a comment under his/her post, and send them the link to your post, maybe they can see there a book they want. 
• Proceed to the swapping as you wish.
• you can advertize with #swapsat
• it is ok to relink the same post every Saturday, as long as your list is updated

What kind of books can I list?

• paperback, hardcover, audiobook.
• any condition you would be ok to receive yourself: new, gently used, ARC
• NB: you can only post an ARC of a book that has already been published
• I think it could be useful to list your books by genre.
• You could include the link to your review as well!

So it could look like that:

MYSTERY
Title, by author  – paperback, ARC, brand new
Title, by author – harcover, gently used, no highlighting

HISTORICAL FICTION
Title, by author  – paperback, brand new
Title, by author – hardcover, spine gently used, otherwise great condition

Celebrities in Classics Meme

Each Celebrities in Classics post will profile an actor/actress and highlight any appearances they have made in classic book adaptations. The post will also include my first encounter, favourite movie/scene, great quotes, videos and any other tidbits I think are interesting.

Everyone is invited to participate and link posts below about their favourite Celebrities in Classics. Feel free to write a post using the same categories or make-up your own. Please include the title of your post and your blog name in the “Name” section of the link. For example, Hugh Grant (ebookclassics). I will keep the feature open until the end of the year depending on interest.

Note: If someone else has written about your favourite celebrity, don’t hesitate to write a profile with your own take on their filmography.

As you may know, every Friday people tweet the names of Twitter users they'd like others to follow and tag it with #followfriday and/or #FF. My idea of this monthly feature originates with the aforementioned feature on Twitter.  Follow Friday should become a great way for bloggers to socialize and network their blogs, and to share upcoming events! I hope that it will help many bookworms not to miss any interesting event as well as my fellow bloggers to attract more participants or even more blog followers.

And, this is how it should work:

• On the third Friday of every month I will share with you a bookish challenge, a read-a-long, or a readathon that I've found in the blogosphere and will start soon, and the entering of which I'd recommend to every kindred spirit.
• Create your own Follow Friday post and recommend upcoming bookish events hosted by other bloggers that you find interesting. Even though I'm addicted to the classics, please feel free to recommend events from any genre that is dear to your heart! You may keep your FF post short or you may write a lengthy one; it's up to you. You can also praise the whole blog that hosts that particular event, if you like.
• It would be nice, if you would use my official graphic and please link back toAnneish Imaginary Adventures so that other people wanting to participate know where to get the information to do so!
• Once you have your Follow Friday posted, come back to Anneish Imaginary Adventures and add your link to the list.
• Visit other participants' link to find out what events they recommend and please do share with them as well as with me, if they inspired you to enter an event!
• Finally, have fun and read on!

The Sunday Story Society is a reading group for short stories. We read and discuss (in the comments of a blog post) a different story every two weeks, starting on a Sunday – but the comment threads are always open, so join in whenever you like. All the stories are available to read for free online.

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”: January Sign-up Post

How the sign-up works.

• I won’t be having any of those link-up gadgets. Instead, just state your interest in the comments section of this post.
  
• If you are a blogger and you get ready a sign-up post, please add your link to the comments section.
  
• If you are not a blogger, don’t worry. Just state your interest ‘s all.

I’m looking at making a master list of participants along with links from bloggers on each play’s sign-up post — just so that all this info isn’t lost among all the discussions and comments.
How the read-along schedule works. You are welcome to begin reading the play any time you like. However, on this blog, the read-along posts that follow each act in the play will be found on the following dates:

• 15 January 2012 — Act I
  
• 18 January 2012 — Act II
  
• 21 January 2012 — Act III
  
• 24 January 2012 — Act IV
  
• 27 January 2012 — Act V
  
• 30 January 2012 — Summary of Discussions/Wrap-up Post

How the discussion works. The first five discussion posts will contain brief summaries of the corresponding act followed by questions to provoke discussion. The sixth and final post will be a summary of the discussions we’ve had in the previous posts, mapping out various subjects like characterisation, themes, symbols and motifs — anything that comes up during the course of the discussions.
Remember:

• If you are a blogger and would like to make separate posts on your blogs answering the discussion questions, please add your links to the corresponding posts in the comments section.
  
• You do not have to be a blogger to participate in the discussions.
  
• Even if you are not able to finish reading the play within the assigned month, you are welcome to join in on the discussions at any time. There is NO time limit for discussions.

Thursday Three Weekly Meme

What is Thursday 3? It's a new weekly meme, hosted by me, in which we will be discussing our love/hate relationship with our current read.

Here is how Thursday 3 works:

• Take your current read, or book you previously finished, and tell me the following 3 things about it.

1. Character from the book you LOVE (This can be a character you want as your BFF or someone you want to take home to meet the parents)
2. Character from the book you HATE (This character does not have to be the villian, just someone you disliked)
3. Your overall LOVE/HATE of the book. (If you haven't decided your feelings for the book yet, or if you prefer, just provide a snippet from the book containing either the word "LOVE" or "HATE")

And if you know which state your book takes place, please include that in your post to help aid the participants in my 50 States Reading Challenge find books for those states. {Since not all books take place in real location, this is not a requirement. If it was it would no longer be three:)}

Book Nooks How-To:
Feel free to join in whenever you like. The hop goes up every weekend.

1. Posts each weekend - Posts every weekend - you can post anywhere from Friday through Sunday, your pick. Even a very early Monday post would be okay, would just count it as a long weekend.
2. Header image and info - Grab main image and info. You don't necessarily have to link to both author name and title, please just give due credit by including founder name at minimum. A link would be appreciated and a nice courtesy, but it's totally up to you.  You can include any tagline you want, if you don't necessarily want to use, 'Show us something pretty!' It's your post, so say whatever you like. The idea is just to give new visitors some idea what the post will be about.
3. Pick your book nook - Pick a pretty place that looks like it would be a comfy and cool place to read. It doesn't have to necessarily be a library or book shop - if you think it's a place that looks like a perfect place for a good read, then it qualifies.  You can pick photos or paintings, the image can be a living room or bedroom or just a picnic spot, it's up to you. It just has to someplace that looks like a wonderful spot to read a few books.
4. Share your thoughts on the book nook - (Commentary) Share why you think this makes a wonderful book nook - the colors, the comfortable accessories, the light, the peace and quiet, the general feeling of the place, and so on.

It'll be called Weekly NetGalley Recommendations (very original, I know) will be posted on Sunday, and the number of recommendations per week will vary. It will have the title, cover, it's GoodReads synopsis, and the link to request it on netGalley. Beware: I do have a partiality for YA.

You can comment on the book of the week by reviewing it, talking about what you liked and/or didn’t like, discussing the characters, a scene you liked, talking about the author, quoting a few lines etc.  And if you haven’t read the book, you can talk about if you’d like to read or not, your opinion of the book based on the blurb, or something like that. As long as it relates to the book, it’s very welcomed!

• Chats will be tuesdays at the time is most convenient for most readers!
• Sign-ups will be open until the day before the book chat.
• On the day before the chat, I will email all participants with the chat room link, password and time, so please remember to let me have your email address one way or another. You will not be able to receive the link and password if I don’t have your email address!!
• When you’ve gotten the link and the password, sign into the chat room on the designated time, and chat away!

Rules:

1. Please play nice. Be respectful to each other, and no personal insults to others or to their opinions.
2. No SHOUTING. Using all CAPITAL LETTERS is considered shouting and is rude.
3. Please stay on topic at all times. There’s plenty of time for you to socialize outside of the book chats. Don’t even talk about other books unless they relate to the current book being discussed.
4. It will be helpful and make your discussions more satisfying if you prepared a short list of things that stood out to you in the book and that you want to talk about.
5. Don’t be afraid to share. This is what the book chat is for, we want to know how the book affected you and what you got out of it.
